Despite no competition with the world, the giant panda still has some predators to contend with, such as the golden cat, leopard, jackal, wolf, yellow-throated marten and more, who only prey on the cubs, the elderly, and sickly giant pandas. This is because they cannot threaten those adult giant pandas that are young and vigorous, as violent as their carnivorous ancestors, brave enough to face their would-be predators. Once the pandas who are commonly docile in captivity are irritated, some serious situations do occur.
Jackal: They mostly prey on the cubs, the elderly and sickly giant pandas by climbing on the backs of giant pandas and begin by gouging out their eyes and then tearing out their intestines from the anus. Accordingly, it’s generally called Taogou (a dog that pulls out its prey’s intestines).
Leopard: They attack the cubs, the elderly and sickly giant pandas;
Golden cat: They generally attack panda cubs.
