Brief introduction
The Chengdu Giant Panda Museum was founded in 1992, the Chengdu Giant Panda Museum started exhibitions in its new building in August 2019 and will be open to the public on March 3, 2021. As an international and contemporary museum that covers popular science, public education, exhibitions, exhibit collections, conservation and academic research, the museum has embraced the theme “harmony among humans, giant pandas, and nature” in its design. Through interactive experiences, scene restoration, immersive tours, and more, it has enabled the public to learn about the survival statuses of rare animals, such as giant pandas while being entertained; garnered environment and animal conservation awareness; inspired the spirit of scientific exploration; and improved public scientific literacy.
Exhibition area introduction
The building area of the museum is 7179 ㎡ and the exhibition area is 4342 ㎡. As the world's first interactive experience museum with the theme of giant panda, it contains seven main exhibition areas: Tracing Origins, Among the Pandas, Discovery Trail, Human Impact, Helping Hands, Taking Actions and Join the Future, and also has a 3D cinema and a dome cinema.

Opening hours:9:00-17:00 from Tuesday to Sunday, no admission after 16:30,Closed on Mondays (excluding statutory holidays).
Museum location: The Museum is located in the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding.
Ways of visiting:Those who have bought a ticket of the Panda Base can book on official WeChat account “Chengdu Giant Panda Museum”. After a successful reservation, you can enter the Chengdu Giant Panda Museum for free with both your cards and QR code instead of a paper ticket.
Number of visitors: The number of visitors available per day is 5000 (instantaneous maximum visitor volume is 450 during the pandemic period).
Cinema reservation:There is a 3D cinema and a dome cinema in the museum, please scan the QR code to make an appointment after entering the museum.
Team appointment:Please call 86-28-83500156 to make an appointment at least one week in advance for group visit.
Visitor Rules

Please cooperate on security check when entering the Museum and do not bring flammable, explosive, toxic and hazardous materials, controlled knives, etc.
Persons who are drunk, improperly dressed, carrying pets and promoting merchandise are refused.
Please take care in some exhibition halls as the Museum dims lights to ensure its display effect.
Please pay attention to the safety of yourself, others and exhibits when taking photos.
Please visit in a civilized manner and do not eat, smoke, scribble, talk loudly or romp in the exhibition area.
Please take care of public facilities and exhibits, do not touch specimens, and operate interactive facilities and exhibits as specified.
Persons with limited capacity that require accompaniment and minors should be accompanied by their guardians.
