Recruitment conditions and requirements

Recruitment conditions and requirements: Volunteer applicants should be at least 14 years old (minors 14 to 18 need written consent from their guardians), be in good health, accept the conservation concepts employed at the Panda Base, and be capable of reading and writing Chinese fluently. Those familiar with foreign languages are preferred. Applicants have the opportunity to become a volunteer student only after they are accepted during primary selection. Then they can fill the post only after participating in formal training and passing their assessment. They must also be able to provide at least 60 hours of volunteer service for the Panda Base after taking the post. During their tenure, applicants should obey the unified requirements and management system of the Panda Base popular science volunteer team, particularly the volunteer registration system. Once they have passed primary selection and completed their training, applicants are required to transit from their internship into a regular position within a certain amount of time. Then each quarter they must satisfy the requirements for a certain number of services to register periodically and maintain their volunteer status. Therefore, this project is not suitable for applicants who wish to provide temporary or short-term volunteer services. We sincerely look forward to having those of you who meet these conditions, have passion for volunteer, respect the contractual spirit, are brave enough to forge ahead, and are willing to cooperate with us in the long term!

Recruitment process and form: Popular science volunteers of the Panda Base are recruited both online and offline twice a year, once in the spring and autumn each.

1. Online recruitment: Follow the official WeChat account for the science popularization Panda Academy, then go to Be a Volunteer and fill in Application for Popular Science Volunteer and submit it. The volunteer project management team will select and notify candidates before the next training session. Afterwards, candidates will take their posts after undergoing training and passing their assessments, and volunteer and follow the management system to maintain their volunteer status.
