1.In a bid to further protect the welfare of animals, Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding adopts trial animal rotating rest system. From December 25, 2023 (inclusive), the No. 6 Giant Panda Villa (the previous Baby Giant Panda Villa), which receives a large swath of visitors annually, will be shut every Monday on trial. During the period of closure, the area will be closed to visitors. Please be noted and arrange your tour reasonably.
2.The Chengdu Giant Panda Museum is closed for maintenance on Mondays, except for China’s statutory holidays. Please follow the official WeChat account “Chengdu Giant Panda Museum” to make a reservation in advance. Bamboo Tower is closed for maintenance on Tuesdays, except for China’s statutory holidays, and will be shut in case of unfavorable weather. The Panda Art Museum is closed for maintenance on Mondays, except for China’s statutory holidays. Due to the upgrading of the equipment of the Charm Theater in the Science Popularization Venue, the site is scheduled to be closed from May 1, 2024 to May 7, 2024. Sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
3.Safety first. The elderly, young children, expectant mothers, people with impaired mobility must be accompanied by adults during visiting. Please keep your belongings attended; Mosquito repellent is needed if necessary. Please keep at least three-meter distance from free-range animals and red pandas on an entry-type tour during visit. Please do not sit or stand on the railings and other dangerous places, and do not climb over guardrails.
4. Giant pandas are intolerant to heat. When the weather is cool, giant pandas will be active in the outdoor arena. But when it is hot, for their health, giant pandas will go back indoors to avoid the heat. Sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
Notice to Visitors
1.In order to protect the welfare of animals, the animals inside will be free to go in and out of the indoor and outdoor fields. At some outdoor fields, visitors may not be able to see the animals; in cases of bad weather, natural disasters, or enclosure due to construction, maintenance, and breeding, some sites may be temporarily closed.
2.Please watch your behavior and queue up in order; illegal peddling of goods, distributing and posting leaflets are prohibited; it is prohibited to occupy the site to carry out individual or collective organization of activities affecting other people, including celebrating the birthday for the giant pandas and so on.
3. Please maintain public order. No pets allowed, including cats and dogs (the visually impaired with guide dogs must carry the Dog Registration Certificate, Vaccine Certificate, and Guide Dog License, and the whole visit shall be accompanied by security staff; guide dogs should be kept at least 10 meters away from the animal activity field.); it is prohibited to bring or use drones, skates, skateboards, scooters, self-balancing scooters, bicycles, etc. inside; please keep off the grass.
4. Please observe the laws and regulations of China. Illegal and unlawful activities are prohibited. Dangerous goods are prohibited. No smoking and open flames.
5. Please be mindful of your own and animals’ safety. Stay quiet and keep clear off animals; littering, spitting, throwing food into the animal activity field and other behaviors threatening animals’ safety are prohibited.
6. Please comply with the park’s copyright protection regulations. Unauthorized live activities are prohibited.
7. Panda Base and its authorized institutions have the right to reasonably use the visitors’ images within the scope of the law.
8. Panda Base has established a mechanism to punish uncivilized behaviors. Where the above behaviors affecting the normal order of the park or threatening the safety of the animals are verified, the Panda Base will, according to the severity of the behaviors, punish the violators with different degrees of penalties, such as criticizing and educating, banning them from entering the park within one year, banning them from entering the park within five years, or banning them from entering the park for life, and so on.
Tourist Center Opening Hours
The West and South Gate Tourist Centers are open from March 1st to October 31st every year: 7:30-18:00; from November 1st to February 28th (February 29th in leap years): 8:00-17:30.

Method:
1.The self-service storage lockers in the South Gate Tourist Center: Open an unused locker, set a one-eight-digit pin and press “#” key to confirm the lock. Pick up your belongings by entering the preset pin and pressing “#” key to unlock the locker. The self-service storage lockers in the West Gate Tourist Center: click on “storage” button on the digital screen, select the size of lockers, take away the bar code paper, and put your belongings into the pop-up lockers. Pick up your belongings by scanning the bar code paper. If the bar code paper is lost, or the pin is forgotten, please turn to the front desk staff for assistance.
2.If the belongings are too large or the lockers are full, you can contact the front desk staff at the Tourist Center for storage.
Both methods are free of charge, so visitors can travel light and enjoy a pleasant journey.

Water dispensers are set up in the park, some of which also provide free warm water. Because of the limited storage capacity of dispensers’ tanks, if there is no water, please consult the onsite staff to get water from the nearest one.

There are Nursing Rooms at both the West and South Gate Tourist Centers, which provide diaper pads, diapers, milk warmers, disinfectant wipes, and other supplies for mothers and babies. For assistance, please contact the front desk staff of the Tourist Center.
Lost and Found
If visitors accidentally lost items in the park, please call the lost and found hotline 86-28-83507814 or go to the Tourist Center to register and report to the staff. If the lost items are found, the staff will notify the owner in the first place. Visitors can also follow the official WeChat account “Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding”, on which lost and found notices are released every month for items that are not claimed in that month. We have a clinic (first aid station) specially set up for tourists at an obvious location. There are full-time medical staff with common medicines, ambulance stretchers, etc. The well-equipped clinic ensures strong capabilities of emergency response.
